Therapy for Children Who Communicate with Gestalts

Delayed Echolalia/Scripting

At Collaborative Minds, we specialize in supporting children who are gestalt language processors. Through child-led play, we honor and validate their scripts while modeling new language to help them progress through the Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) stages—from echolalia to self-generated language.

  • Targeted therapy for children who demonstrate delayed echolalia

  • Identification of children who are 'gestalt language processors' (process language in 'chunks' rather than single words)

  • Family coaching to support the development of self-generated language

Parent involvement is essential in gestalt language therapy, and we encourage family members to actively join, learn, and participate in the process!

Connection & Self Advocacy

Sensory Based Therapeutic Support

We believe meaningful communication starts with connection and regulation—not compliance. This service is designed for neurodivergent children who benefit from sensory-informed, relationship-based support to grow their self-awareness, regulation, and expressive communication.

  • Sensory-based therapy to support nervous system regulation, attention, and readiness for connection

  • Child-led sessions that follow your child’s pace, interests, and needs

  • Opportunities for co-regulation and movement that promote trust and safety

  • Support for self-advocacy including building the language and confidence to express needs, boundaries, and preferences

  • Parent collaboration and coaching to help you better understand and support your child’s sensory and communication profile

This approach is ideal for children who communicate through behavior, who feel overwhelmed by traditional therapy models, or who need a different entry point into relationship and communication.

Our goal? To help your child feel seen, heard, and safe, because every child deserves to connect in a way that honors who they are.
